For Mom

This is a set I made for my mom a few months back, I just never got around to sharing. I'm in beading mania now and will share when I'm done!

Multistrand Madness, Part 2

This multistrand has various gold, copper and, teal beads. More to come on this one!

Multistrand Madness, Part 1

Here's a 3 stranded necklace that uses various blue, clear, and white beads. I got on a bit of a kick with these. (see part 2)

My Own Heart

Last weekend was dreary, so we stayed in and I did a LOT of beading that I'm just getting around to posting. This is one that my dear husband "designed" and I put together. It uses rubber beads, cracked glass beads, hematite beads, silver bead caps, and this pretty heart pendant. I think I may keep him around... ;-)

Made to Order!

A friend of mine is planning an upcoming vacation and bought a red swimsuit that needed some great jewelry to go with it. Enter Lynette...errr, the Beaded Lady. I assembled the following set for her with glass Czech beads in light red and honey, pearls, gold seed beads and a shell pendant. I also had to use 14kt gold clasps/earrings for this one since she has an allergy. I'm really excited about the outcome and am seriously considering making a pair of these earrings for myself!

New Look

Hello friends! First off, I want to ask you to keep checking back! I just bought a bunch of new displays, so I will be replacing all of these pictures and my jewelry will be easier to see than laying on my kitchen counter! Secondly, I just got in a shipment of beads so I plan to be a beading fool! I hope to start getting a lot more done and for sale over the next few weeks! Keep visiting and happy beading!

Great News!

Today I got the information I need to get involved in the weekly market that takes place every Saturday in Olde Town Slidell. Once I get myself set up and get a stock made, I plan to be there! I'll let you know when that is! I'm so excited about the opportunity! Happy Beading!

Tickled Pink

What do you do when you have a pink top and no jewelry to wear with it?
Well, if you're me, you make something! I haven't gone through my collection of beads since we moved here, but I have picked up a few things since we got here. I bought some flip flop charms and have wanted to use them. What better way to use them than with pink (which just happens to be my absolute FAVORITE color!)

So, I sorted out what I decided I really wanted to use for this project, as you can see by my highly scientific sorting method.
I started with the earrings this time since I think that's my favorite part. I normally do earrings last.

And this is what I ended up with!
We'll see how everyone likes it at my meeting tonight (to which I will be wearing pink, of course!)

GEAUX SAINTS

I recently moved from Texas to Louisiana. Of course, I AM a Saints fan, so it's only natural that I would make myself some earrings!

Eventually there will be a necklace to match, but this is what I have for now! Be inspired! Happy Beading!

Blue Beauty

I bought a multicolored dress for my cousin's wedding and needed something to go with it. After trips to mutliple stores I managed to pull together enough beads to make this beauty!

Totally Turq

One of my latest pieces.

Black and Silver

These are both very popular pieces I have done. I just made earrings for one necklace. The other will get earrings soon!

Piece of my heart!

I used the extra amethyst for this heart pendant.

Color Me....Colorful!

For the days when you just can't decided what color to wear, wear them all!
My inspiration for this set was really the earrings. I had seen some similar, but wanted to attempt my own and am happy with these results!

So Patriotic

We were going to a picnic on one of these patriotic holidays and I needed a patriotic necklace, so I came up with this.

Green with Envy....

this was made simply to go with a green blouse that I used to have! :-)

Mirrors and Pearls

This one is from a pattern. I found the mirrored clay beads and couldn't think of what to do with them, so I found this. I think it turned out wonderful! And the great news is that it looks more expensive than it is!

Round and Round....

A friend of mine has a daughter who gave me the idea for these earrings. She had made some smaller ones, so I thought of this, then the necklace came afterwards!

It's giant!

And it's round! And I LOVE it!

Asian Inspiration!

I found these beads while visiting my sister and I immediately saw this design in my head! My absolute favorite part is this bracelet.

My First Bead Show

Last summer, my husband took me to the very first bead show I have ever been to. It was amazing, and overwhelming. We had recently visited New Orleans and I had bought a gorgeous amethyst cuff (yes, a bracelet that fits me!) and wanted more to go with it. In the meantime I bought some other beads for other projects....

I found this amazing amethyst drop. I can't tell you how excited I was! The smaller amethyst are the same size as the amethyst in the cuff I bought. The set is amazing, my first really big "all by myself" project!
While I was rooting around for the amethyst, I found this butterfly, and matched the rest of these beads with it!
I also needed some turqouise earrings for an old necklace that I have had since I was about 16!

You never know where you will find inspiration for new and beautiful things, so look!!!!

Happy Beading!!!!

BRACELET MANIA!

I have a real problem...I have VERY skinny wrists. Everytime I buy a bracelet, it falls right off! It's so annoying. I'm so glad I know how to make my own now! Here are just a few I have done for myself. I've even made some with wodden beads for my 2 year old son because he likes wearing bracelets like his mommy!

Moving right along....

After I finished making the kits, I started following patterns. I thought this was really helpful in learning what I like and how to do different techniques.
I shared this and previous posts with you so you would get an idea of how to start (should you be interested in beading for yourself.) I learned a lot just by picking things up and doing them. Now I get lots of ideas for lots of different things I have learned. Happy Beading!!!

Mish Mosh, not so great....

...proof that just because you like the beads doesn't mean they go together! LOL Someday this will get torn apart, but even the bad ones teach you more about making them!!!

In The Beginning...

We all have to start somewhere, right? Well, I had never made a single piece of jewelry in my life, so I wasn't sure where to start. I went to my local store's craft section and began buying small projects that already had beads put together in sets. Below are a few of these:

Hello!

Hello all! I started beading about a year ago after I realized that I could do it. I was tired of looking for that perfect necklace, couldn't stand that I could never find what I wanted in sets, and hated that nobody ever makes bracelets for really skinny wrists. I have been asked to share my creations, so here you go! I hope you enjoy! Happy beading!

With Love,

The Beaded Lady
